This innovative course shows how VET teachers can make their classrooms more European without students leaving home. Through digital exchanges, collaborative projects, and intercultural learning methods, teachers integrate Erasmus+ values directly into everyday teaching.

Description:

Internationalisation at Home provides teachers with the know-how to bring global perspectives into local classrooms. The course introduces digital collaboration tools, project-based learning, and strategies for fostering intercultural competence. Teachers learn how to set up eTwinning projects, organise virtual mobility activities, and prepare students for international teamwork and career opportunities.

Aims and objectives:

- Strengthen internationalisation strategies for schools that cannot always send students abroad
- Develop digital collaboration competences for cross-border learning
- Promote inclusion and cultural awareness in VET classrooms
- Create project-based learning activities with European partners

Learning outcomes:

- Implement Internationalisation at Home strategies in daily teaching
- Use digital platforms for international classroom collaboration
- Foster intercultural communication and teamwork among students
- Design sustainable European projects that fit local contexts

Target groups:

Minimum level of language: English B1 or B1+

Duration of training: 25 lessons, 5 days

Day 2 — Digital Collaboration Tools for Cross‑Border Learning Introduction to digital platforms for international classroom collaboration Practical sessions on tools like eTwinning, virtual exchanges, and remote project spaces Strategies for managing synchronous and asynchronous international collaboration (Focus on concrete tools to connect classrooms across borders.)
Day 3 — Intercultural Competence and Inclusive Practices Developing intercultural awareness and cultural sensitivity in the classroom Designing activities that promote inclusion and respect for diversity Case studies: intercultural projects and reflective discussion (Builds core intercultural skills essential for IaH success.)
Day 4 — Project‑Based Learning with European Partners Principles of project‑based learning and international project design Workshop: co‑creating a collaborative project activity with European partner schools Planning evaluation and sustainability for international activities (Brings collaboration skills into concrete project design.)
